For the past two years, Lisa Martin has proved
that she is an exceptional athlete while playing for both Cambrian
women's volleyball and soccer teams.
In 2004-05, Lisa was the driving force of Cambrian's unbelievable
season in women's volleyball. Cambrian had plenty of momentum going
into the OCAA championship tournament after posting an undefeated
mark of 13-0 during the regular season, remarkably losing just one
set (39-1). The championship was not any different for the Golden
Shield as they breezed through the competition earning the OCAA
gold medal. At nationals, Cambrian fought hard and earned the CCAA
bronze medal.
Individually Lisa is a CCAA all-Canadian, CCAA championship
first-team all-star, two time CCAA athlete of the month, two-time
OCAA league all-star, OCAA Central East region scoring champion,
and a two-time OCAA athlete of the week for her accomplishments in
women's volleyball.
Cambrian head coach Dale Beausoleil remarks, "Like
all elite athletes, Lisa is relentless in her pursuit of
excellence. She possesses an unparalleled work ethic that propels
her to exceptional achievement on the volleyball court. She is one
of the most fiercest competitors that we have ever had in
Cambrian's volleyball family. As a coach, you have to love and
respect her determination to win and her refusal to settle for
mediocrity."
