Megan Stacey ended her colligate career on a
high leading the Nipissing Lakers to a perfect 14-0 regular season
record and guiding them to their first Poovincial title in Lakers
history.
Stacey, a six-foot-one fourth-year middle from North Bay, Ont.,
has raised the bar for OCAA volleyball players during her career.
This season, Stacey captured several individual accolades as she
was honoured as a CCAA all-Canadian, OCAA first-team all-star and
CCAA athlete of the month. Her performance in the clutch also
earned her honours as she was named the OCAA championship MVP and a
CCAA championship all-star.
She also furthered her attack on the record books, increasing her
record for most career points (1,035) and most career kills (821).
She also led the Central West region in scoring averaging 4.70
points per game (PPG).
As one of the most decorated athletes in women's volleyball
history, Stacey became the first OCAA student-athlete to win four
consecutive CCAA all-Canadian awards. She is also a three-time OCAA
women's volleyball player of the year.
