OVERALL MALE: Mark Dugas, Sault, Men's Curling
Sault fourth-year curler Mark Dugas (Sault Ste.
Marie) was named the championship all-star lead at nationals,
following up on his first-team all-star recognition at provincials.
The Sault Cougars won their first-ever national medal in curling,
taking bronze on home ice.
OVERALL MALE: Josh Elgeti, Redeemer, Men's Indoor
Soccer
Redeemer's Josh Elgeti (Peterborough) was named
most valuable player at the OCAA Men's Indoor Soccer Championship,
leading the Royals to their first provincial championship since
2008. The Cinderella Royals needed two overtime victories in the
playoffs to claim the title.
OVERALL FEMALE: Hilda Chmait, Seneca, Women's Indoor
Soccer
Hilda Chmait (Mississauga) was named most
valuable player at the OCAA Women's Indoor Soccer Championship,
leading Seneca to its first-ever provincial title. Chmait has
earned championship awards in consecutive seasons, being named an
all-star last year.
OVERALL FEMALE: Sarah Jagger, Humber, Women's
Curling
Humber first-year curler Sarah Jagger (Toronto) continued her successful debut season on the ice, being named the championship all-star second at nationals. Jagger was also named a first-team all-star at provincials. Humber's silver medal was its first ever at nationals.
BASKETBALL
MALE: Ajahmo Clarke, Durham
Third-year guard Ajahmo Clarke (Ajax) shined on
home court, scoring 12 points in spectacular fashion to lead Team
East to a 97-96 win over Team East at the annual OCAA all-star
game. The East first-team all-star was named player of the game for
his efforts.
MALE: Matt Fennell, Mohawk
Fourth-year guard Matt Fennell (London) was
named West player of the game in a 97-96 loss to Team East at the
annual OCAA all-star game. The all-Canadian and OCAA West scoring
champion scored 16 points, a dozen of which came from behind the
three-point line.
FEMALE: Shannon Kennedy, St. Clair
OCAA rookie of the year Shannon Kennedy
(Windsor) was named West player of the game in a 72-66 loss to Team
East at the annual OCAA all-star game. Kennedy scored 11 points in
defeat. Despite her rookie status, Kennedy was named an OCAA West
first-team all-star.
FEMALE: Lacey Knox, St. Lawrence-Kingston
Two-time OCAA player of the year Lacey Knox
(Kingston) was named East player of the game in a 72-66 win over
Team East at the annual OCAA all-star game. Knox scored a dozen
points in the victory. The two-time all-Canadian is also a two-time
OCAA scoring champion.
VOLLEYBALL
MALE: Josh Lynch, St. Clair
Fourth-year setter Josh Lynch (Windsor) took
home West player of the game honours in a 4-1 win over Team East at
the annual OCAA all-star game. Lynch was rewarded for his regular
season play with St. Clair being named an OCAA West first-team
all-star for the first time.
MALE: Riley McAllister, Durham
Fifth-year setter Riley McAllister (Whitby)
made his final match on home court a memorable one, earning East
player of the game honours in a 4-1 loss to Team West. McAllister
enjoyed a stellar career as a Durham Lord, twice named an East
first-team all-star.
FEMALE: Jaime Fryer, Trent
First-year left side Jaime Fryer (Pickering)
was named East player of the game in a 3-2 loss to Team West at the
annual OCAA all-star game. It caps a terrific debut season for
Fryer, being named East rookie of the year, a second-team all-star
and all-rookie team member.
FEMALE: Kaitlyn Kelly, Fanshawe
Third-year left side Kaitlyn Kelly (London) followed up her championship all-star performance with a nod as West player of the game in a 3-2 win over Team East at the annual all-star game. Kelly was also named a West first-team all-star during the regular season.

OVERALL MALE: Dylan Periana, Sheridan, Men's Basketball
Third-year point guard Dylan Periana (Brampton)
was named a first-team all-star at nationals. He was Sheridan's
player of the game in a semi-final loss to Red Deer, scoring a
game-high 28 points. Periana scored 72 points in four games,
scoring 18 points or more three times.
OVERALL FEMALE: Kim Cupid, Algonquin, Women's
Basketball
Third-year guard Kim Cupid (Guelph) was twice
named player of the game and a first-team all-star at nationals.
Cupid contributed 48 points in four games, hitting double figures
three times. Algonquin placed fourth at the tournament. Cupid was
also a championship all-star at provincials.
BASKETBALL

nationals. She was named player of the game in Seneca's opening day
loss. Then in a four-set win over OCAA champion Humber, Ballance
led all Sting players with 14 points.

OVERALL: Sandre Bascoe, Algonquin, Women's Basketball
Fifth-year forward Sandre Bascoe (Ottawa)
earned her third career OCAA championship MVP award, leading
Algonquin to a fourth consecutive provincial title. She was one
rebound shy of three double-doubles in three games, and led her
teammates with 47 total points.
OVERALL: Victoria Hall/Kimloung Lim, Mohawk, Women's
Badminton
Mohawk College's women's doubles team of Victoria
Hall (Brantford) and Kimloung Lim
(Cambodia) earned national silver medals. The duo took host NAIT to
three sets in the final before losing 21-12, 19-21, 21-10. Hall and
Lim had a perfect record through the semi-finals, dropping just one
set.
OVERALL: Andrew Lau/Tracy Wong, Humber, Mixed
Badminton
Humber College's mixed doubles team of Andrew
Lau (Markham) and Tracy Wong (Richmond
Hill) earned national silver medals, dropping the championship
final in two sets (21-17, 21-16) to Lanagara College. Lau and Wong
were perfect up until this point with a 5-0 record in the
preliminary round and a straight sets victory in the semi-final.
OVERALL: Michael Selkridge, Sheridan, Men's
Basketball
Third-year forward Michael Selkridge (Brampton) was named the OCAA championship MVP, leading Sheridan to back-to-back provincial titles on home court. Selkridge was Sheridan's leading scorer in two of its three games, as he totaled 50 points for the tournament.

four service aces for 62 points in three matches as Humber was
awarded the OCAA silver medal. Bramwell (Toronto) struck for 27
kills and 29 points in a five-set loss to OCAA champion Mohawk in
the finale.
OVERALL FEMALE: Kelly Nyhof, Humber, Women's
Volleyball
The OCAA championship MVP accumulated 56 kills, eight service
aces and six blocks for 70 points in three matches as Humber won a
seventh straight provincial title. Prior to the tournament, Nyhof
(Georgetown) was named OCAA player of the year for the third
consecutive season.
BASKETBALL
MALE: Chavaun Miller-Bennett, Fanshawe
Second-year forward Chavaun Miller-Bennett
(London) shot 63.6 per cent from the field for 24 points as
Fanshawe clipped Centennial 85-80 on the road in its OCAA
qualifier. Miller-Bennett was 3-of-5 in three-point shooting, and
7-of-10 from the charity stripe.
FEMALE: Nicolle Gaudet, St. Lawrence-Kingston
First-year forward Nicolle Gaudet (Kingston)
scored both a season and game-high 28 points to lead St.
Lawrence-Kingston to a 73-63 win over Niagara and a return trip to
the OCAA championship. Gaudet shot 11-of-15 from the field,
including a perfect 5-of-5 beyond the three-point arc.
VOLLEYBALL

Fifth-year forward Vadim Halimov (Uzbekistan)
became the OCAA points king in men's basketball, pouring in 46
points in George Brown's 95-94 win at Seneca. Halimov surpassed
Anthony Batchelor's career record of 1,833 points, and Marv
Snowden's single season record of 582.
OVERALL FEMALE: Stephanie Hoey, Conestoga, Women's
Volleyball
Second-year middle Stephanie Hoey (Brampton) produced team highs with 15 kills and 18 points in Conestoga's five-set playoff victory over Canadore. She also earned three service aces in the win. The Condors move on to provincials, hosted by Durham College Feb. 20-22.

one assist and one steal. Smith and the Sting now await the OCAA
crossovers for a chance at provincials.
VOLLEYBALL
MALE: D'Artaniel Jackman, George Brown
First-year middle D'Artaniel Jackman (Toronto)
totaled seven blocks to go along with a dozen kills in George
Brown's 3-1 win over defending OCAA bronze medalist Redeemer.
Jackman's season high 19 points was also a game-high. The Huskies
move on to provincials at Georgian College Feb. 20-22.
FEMALE: Stephanie Hoey, Conestoga

playing three games in three days. She earned three kills, eight
aces and 11 digs at home against Georgian, then continued her
strong play in Ottawa at Algonquin and La Cite, combining for seven
kills, five digs, three aces and one block.

lose 77-72, it is peaking at the right time.

MALE: Andrew Kretz, Trent
After beginning the season 1-11, Trent has reeled off four
straight victories. First-year outside hitter Andrew
Kretz (St. Catharines) has been a key contributer with a
season-high 21 points in each of his last three games. His 20 kills
against crosstown rival Fleming was also a season-high.
FEMALE: Emily Gilbert, Durham
Emily Gilbert (Whitby, Ont.) had a strong week playing three games in three days. She earned three kills, eight aces and 11 digs at home against Georgian, then continued her strong play in Ottawa at Algonquin and La Cite, combining for seven kills, five digs, three aces and one block.

Second-year outside hitter Trevor McLaughlin
(Kitchener) led Mohawk to a pair of key victories. First,
McLaughlin had a game-high 19 kills in a five-set win at St. Clair.
Less than 24 hours later, McLaughlin contributed 20 kills along
with two aces and one block in a 3-1 win at Fanshawe.
OVERALL FEMALE: Curtiss Straatsma, Redeemer, Women's
Volleyball
Third-year right side Curtiss Straatsma
(Brampton) contributed a season-high seven blocks in Redeemer's 3-1
win at Niagara. She also earned eight kills and three service aces
for a total of 18 points. At 11-4, the Royals are on track for
their best regular season record ever.
BASKETBALL
MALE: Ryan Christie, Niagara
It has been a challenging campaign, but Niagara finally
celebrated its first two victories on home court. Ryan
Christie (Hamilton) scored 20 points while grabbing 17
rebounds in a 77-58 win over Lambton. He followed this up with a
12-point, 18-rebound effort in a 76-73 win over St. Clair.
FEMALE: Ali Vlasman, Fanshawe
First-year player Ali Vlasman (Ingersoll)
scored a dozen points while adding seven rebounds, five assists and
two steals in Fanshawe's 67-46 win over Redeemer. With Fanshawe
leading by three late in the third quarter, Vlasman scored six
straight points to put the game out of reach.
VOLLEYBALL

Paul Rapos (Oshawa) a fifth year accounting major, played a key role in securing the Lords 11th & 12th straight victories of the season. Rapos recorded nine kills and 11 digs against George Brown followed by an eight kill, seven dig and three block performance against Canadore. The Lords are 13-1 this season and are in first place in the OCAA east region.
OVERALL FEMALE: Arica Price, Redeemer, Women's
Basketball
Arica Price (Fort McMurray) played two
impressive games this past week resulting in two wins over
Cambrian. Price tallied 15 points, five steals and five assists in
the first game and followed up in round two with a season high 25
points despite suffering a knee injury in the win.
BASKETBALL
MALE: Derrek Mooney, Algonquin
Derrek Mooney (Ottawa) played a key role in a pair of road victories to help move Algonquin to 15-0 on the season. Mooney started the road trip by draining 29 points to go along with four rebounds and three assists in a win over Seneca. He added another 18 points, seven rebounds and two steals in a win over Georgian.
FEMALE: Arica Price, Redeemer
Arica Price (Fort McMurray) played two impressive games this past week resulting in two wins over Cambrian. Price tallied 15 points, five steals and five assists in the first game and followed up in round two with a season high 25 points despite suffering a knee injury in the win.

She contined her week with 16 kills, seven aces, two blocks in a win over Niagara.

OVERALL MALE: Jordan Marlowe, Loyalist, Men's Basketball
Second-year guard Jordan Marlowe (Richmond
Hill) drained 24 points in Loyalist's important 93-64 win over St.
Lawrence. Marlowe shot 9-of-10 from the field, and 4-of-5 from
beyond the three-point arc. He also contributed three rebounds,
three assists and three steals.
OVERALL FEMALE: Lindsay Ballance, Seneca, Women's
Volleyball
Second-year left side Lindsay Ballance
(Napanee) had a 26-point effort in Seneca's come-from-behind
five-set victory at Canadore on Jan. 18. Ballance totaled 21 kills,
three aces and two blocks. After trailing by two sets, Seneca
rallied to secure its eighth consecutive win.

Second-year guard Jordan Marlowe (Richmond
Hill) drained 24 points in Loyalist's important 93-64 win over St.
Lawrence. Marlowe shot 9-of-10 from the field, and 4-of-5 from
beyond the three-point arc. He also contributed three rebounds,
three assists and three steals.
FEMALE: Shannon Kennedy, St. Clair
First-year Shannon Kennedy (Windsor) had a
20-20 effort in an 81-70 overtime win at Redeemer. Kennedy
contributed 20 points and 20 rebounds, including 19 off the
defensive glass. She had a second double double with 11 points and
10 rebounds in a 59-42 win over Fanshawe.
VOLLEYBALL
MALE: Lyndon Sonego, Georgian
Second-year left side Lyndon Sonego (Barrie)
displayed consistency in Peterborough, tallying 14 points in
Georgian's victories over Fleming and Trent. Sonego recorded a
dozen kills and two blocks in a 3-1 win over Fleming, then 11 kills
and three aces in a sweep of Trent.
FEMALE: Lindsay Ballance, Seneca

career points with eight matches remaining this season. Marier has
one more year of eligibility following this season.

Basketball
Second-year power forward Aleena Domingo
(Toronto) has hit double digits in scoring her last seven games,
including a recent road trip to the west side of the province.
Domingo was 4-of-6 shooting in a 65-48 win over Lambton, and 6-of-8
shooting in a 69-56 win over St. Clair.

MALE: Saliym Cadogan, Durham
Saliym Cadogan (Toronto) played a major role in
back-to-back Durham victories. Cadogan drained 20 points against
George Brown which included two clutch three-pointers in the fourth
quarter. He followed that up with 19 points, five rebounds and four
assists in an overtime win over Georgian.
FEMALE: Aleena Domingo, Humber
Second-year power forward Aleena Domingo
(Toronto) has hit double digits in scoring her last seven games,

Second-year player Erin Clancy (Woodbridge) was a key component in Trent's straight sets win at George Brown on Jan. 10. Clancy was credited with 33 assists, helping teammates Jaime Fryer (Pickering) and Rebecca Van Staaldvinen (Peterborough) record double digit totals in kills.

Sheridan's Josh Butler (London) recorded 17
kills and five blocks for 22 points in a straight sets win over
Conestoga. Butler is averaging 4.2 points per set through the first
nine matches of the season. After losing its first six matches,
Sheridan has won three straight.
OVERALL FEMALE: Mikayla Brennen, Loyalist, Women's
Basketball
First-year forward Mikayla Brennen
(Shannonville) recorded her fifth double-double of the season in
Loyalist's 42-34 victory over Fleming. Brennen scored a game-high
14 points while leading all players with 16 rebounds. Brennen is
sixth in OCAA scoring averaging 18.2 points per game.
BASKETBALL
MALE: Teq Zwarych, Georgian
First-year forward Teq Zwarych (Whitby) scored
16 points while grabbing a team-high 15 rebounds and three steals
in Georgian's big 83-82 win over Centennial. Zwarych has posted a
double-double in points and rebounds in four straight games and in
six of his last seven.
FEMALE: Mikayla Brennen, Loyalist
First-year forward Mikayla Brennen
(Shannonville) recorded her fifth double-double of the season in
Loyalist's 42-34 victory over Fleming. Brennen scored a game-high
14 points while leading all players with 16 rebounds. Brennen is
sixth in OCAA scoring averaging 18.2 points per game.
VOLLEYBALL

Sheridan's Josh Butler (London) recorded 17
kills and five blocks for 22 points in a straight sets win over
Conestoga. Butler is averaging 4.2 points per set through the first
nine matches of the season. After losing its first six matches,
Sheridan has won three straight.
FEMALE: Mallory O'Hara, Conestoga
First-year player Mallory O'Hara (Kitchener) contributed 21 kills and six service aces for 27 points in a pair of December matches. After dropping its first four matches, Conestoga has won five straight to close out the first half, with the last four matches going a maximum five sets.

OVERALL MALE: Mike Lucier, Lambton, Men's Basketball
Third-year forward Mike Lucier (Forest)
recorded game-highs with 23 points, 11 rebounds and three steals in
Lambton's 98-79 win over Niagara. Lucier is averaging 17 points per
game. Lambton has won three straight and currently sits in a tie
for the final playoff position in the OCAA West.
OVERALL FEMALE: Lauren Kuehni, Canadore, Women's
Volleyball

MALE: Mike Lucier, Lambton
Third-year forward Mike Lucier (Forest)
recorded game-highs with 23 points, 11 rebounds and three steals in
Lambton's 98-79 win over Niagara. Lucier is averaging 17 points per
game. Lambton has won three straight and currently sits in a tie
for the final playoff position in the OCAA West.
FEMALE: Sandre Bascoe, Algonquin
Sandre Bascoe (Ottawa) recorded a third
straight double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds in
Algonquin's 75-44 win over Seneca. Bascoe has hit double digits in
scoring in six straight games. Algonquin has not lost an OCAA game
since Nov. 5, 2011 (47 games).
VOLLEYBALL
MALE: Eric Heidbuurt, Redeemer
In a key West Division showdown, Redeemer defeated St. Clair
3-1. Redeemer's Eric Heidbuurt (Waterdown) came up
with his best offensive output of the season with a match-high 21
kills and 26 points. Redeemer (5-3) moved into a four-way tie for
third place along with St. Clair.

FEMALE: Kelsey Hare, Durham
Kelsey Hare's double-double helped Durham hand
Centennial its first loss of the season. Hare (Whitby) scored 16
points while grabbing 11 defensive rebounds in Durham's 76-51 win.
The fifth-year forward also added five assists, three steals and
two blocks to her well-rounded effort.

Hannah Campbell (Midland) led Georgian to key wins over Seneca and Canadore. She totaled 27 points with 15 kills, six aces and six blocks. All six aces were part of a match-high 16-point effort against Canadore. Georgian has won four straight to move into second place in the East standings.

With three goals in three matches, Marco Nunes (Brampton) was named championship MVP at nationals. One of his goals came in the gold medal match against Thompson Rivers, won by Humber 2-0. The Hawks claimed their second straight national title.
OVERALL MALE: Clint Smith, Fanshawe, Men's Cross Country
Two-time OCAA champion Clint Smith (Petrolia) fell just under four seconds shy of his ultimate goal, but settled for a third-straight individual silver medal at cross country nationals. Smith ran 8 km in a time of 25:42. Smith is now a four-time individual medalist at both provincials and nationals.

Redeemer improved to 3-2 on the season following a two-game sweep at home against Sault. Fourth-year forward Benn Ibrahim (Windsor) scored 25 points in a 88-78 win on Nov. 8, then scored 24 points while grabbing 20 rebounds in a 77-65 win on Nov. 9.
FEMALE: Tara Giallonardo, Niagara
Fifth-year guard Tara Giallonardo (Fonthill) was an all-around contributor in Niagara's 70-47 win over Sheridan on Nov. 8. Giallonardo scored 23 points and grabbed eight rebounds to go along with five assists and five steals. Niagara has won four straight to start the regular season.

MALE: John Sheridan, Humber
John Sheridan (Bolton) accomplished a trifecta in Humber's 30-0 semi-final victory over Conestoga. The first-year player scored a try, kicked a convert and booted a penalty kick for a 10-point effort to lead all scorers. Humber hosts Algonquin in a battle of unbeatens for OCAA gold.
FEMALE: Sophie Bulger, Algonquin
First-year centre Sophie Bulger (Cobourg) scored three tries for a match-high 15 points as Algonquin defeated St. Lawrence-Kingston 46-5 in the OCAA semi-finals. With the win, the Thunder remain perfect in 2013 with seven wins. They visit undefeated Humber in the gold medal match.

First-year player Rachel Rivers (Cambridge) is proving to be a valuable addition to the Saints. In two home victories over Boreal and Cambrian, Rivers contributed 30 points, including 26 kills, three aces and a block. St. Clair has won three straight, after winning just four times in 2012-13.

Fifth-year forward Vadim Halimov (Uzbekistan)

10.5 rebounds through four games.

Third-year player Kadeja Hughes (Pickering)
earned a triple-double in Centennial's 73-50 win over crosstown
rival Seneca. Hughes led all players with 18 points, 12 rebounds
and 10 assists. She also contributed a steal. Centennial is 2-0 to
begin the regular season.

Clint Smith (Petrolia) became the eighth
student-athlete to successfully defend his men's individual OCAA
championship, winning in an 8 km time of 28:04, five seconds ahead
of his closest competitor. Smith now has four individual OCAA
medals, with two golds and two silvers.
OVERALL FEMALE: Courtney Brohart, St. Lawrence-Kingston,
Women's Cross Country
Courtney Brohart (Sarnia) became the second
straight runner from St. Lawrence-Kingston to win women's
individual cross country gold, finishing the 5 km race in a time of
22:06. It capped off a tremendous season for her provincially, as
Brohart won four OCAA races in total.
OVERALL FEMALE: Breanna Humpphreys, Algonquin, Women's

Breanna Humpphreys (Ottawa) was named Championship MVP at provincials. Algonquin nearly got through two full matches without allowing a goal, thanks in large part to the play of the first-year defender. Algonquin held on to a 2-1 win over Seneca in the gold medal match.

MALE: Tarez Hepburn, Canadore
Canadore has two wins to open 2013-14 after winning one all of
last season, defeating St. Lawrence-Kingston and Fleming at home.
Second-year forward Tarez Hepburn (Bahamas) was a
key contributor in both wins with 30 points, 12 rebounds, five
steals and three blocks.
FEMALE: Lacey Knox, St. Lawrence-Kingston
Reigning OCAA Player of the Year Lacey Knox
(Kingston) is in mid-season form, dropping 40 points in St.
Lawrence-Kingston's 78-43 win at Georgian. Knox shot 77 percent
(17-of-22) from the field. She also contributed four rebounds,
three blocks and two steals.

MALE: Brady Wallsten, Seneca
Second-year forward Brady Wallsten (Newmarket)
scored a pair of tries to lead Seneca to a 32-19 victory over
Loyalist in the regular season finale for both clubs. It marked
Seneca's first win of the season in six tries, as the Sting end
2014 on a positive note.

Second-year player Kayde Bailey (Burlington) had a strong start to the OCAA season, contributing 36 points over two matches as Niagara won six of seven sets in Sudbury over the weekend. Bailey totaled 20 kills, nine service aces and seven blocks in wins over Boreal and Cambrian.

Golf
Colton Kalkanis (Barrie) made history on the
links, becoming the first men's golfer to defend his individual
title at nationals. Kalkanis finished the three-round tournament 15
strokes under par. A year ago, Kalkanis became the first men's
golfer to win provincials and nationals in the same season.
OVERALL FEMALE: Jessica O'Quinn, Humber, Women's
Fastball
Third-year outfielder/pitcher Jessica O'Quinn
(Etobicoke) was named Championship MVP at provincials. O'Quinn
pitched in three games, earning three victories by allowing just

more than doubled what he had all season, and now puts him in the
OCAA scoring lead with 61 points.
FEMALE: Kaitlin Newton, Fleming
Fifth-year player Kaitlin Newton (Port Hope)
tied an OCAA single-game record scoring five tries totaling 25
points in Fleming's 70-5 win over St. Lawrence-Kingston. Newton now
has 10 tries for the season. The Knights clinched second place in
the OCAA East standings with the win.
SOCCER
MALE: Colin McArthur, Fanshawe
Third-year forward Colin McArthur (Wallaceburg)
scored in the 28th minute, giving Fanshawe a lead it wouldn't
relinquish as the Falcons soared to a 3-0 quarter-final win over
Seneca and a berth in the OCAA championship for the first time
since 2009. Fanshawe has won six straight.
FEMALE: Nicole Forbes, Seneca
Third-year defender Nicole Forbes (Ajax) scored the only goal in the early moments of Seneca's 1-0 quarter-final victory over Mohawk, sending the Sting back to the OCAA championship for the third time in four years. Forbes has totaled five goals in her last two games.

teammates will now take on Fanshawe in the OCAA quarter-finals.

Crannel Jerald, St. Clair
Crannel Jerald (LaSalle) swung a hot bat in St.
Clair's doubleheader sweep of Durham. Jerald totaled five hits in
nine plate appearances, scoring four times while driving in three.
He also stole two bases. St. Clair finished the season with a 14-2
record to clinch the regular season title.
WOMEN'S FASTBALL
Ashley Black, Durham
With their season on the line, Ashley Black
(Waterloo) stood tall for the Durham Lords. She swatted a two-run
double for the game-winning hit in Durham's 2-1 win at Seneca on
Oct. 8. Two days later, she went 3-for-3 as Durham edged Humber
6-5. Black also pitched complete games in both victories.
RUGBY
MALE: Rich Lebel, Conestoga
Rich Lebel (Waterloo) showed incredible
consistency as Conestoga completed a sweep of a home-and-home
series against Sheridan, taking a firm grip on a playoff position
in the OCAA West. In each victory, Lebel scored a pair of tries,
and added a convert for a pair of dozen-point efforts.
FEMALE: Kareece McGregor, Humber
In a match between undefeated clubs, Humber defeated crosstown
rival Seneca 53-0 to take over sole possession of first place in
the OCAA West. Kareece McGregor (Scarborough)
scored a pair of tries in the victory, increasing her season total
to 10, and a share of the OCAA lead.

OVERALL MALE: Christian McCullough, Humber, Men's Golf
Humber's Christian McCullough (Mississauga) is
the 2013 OCAA men's individual golf champion after shooting an
impressive six-under par for the 54-hole tournament. His efforts
were enough for a five-stroke win. Five of the past six OCAA men's
individual gold medalists have golfed for Humber.
OVERALL FEMALE: Adrienne D'Alessio, Humber, Women's
Golf
Adrienne D'Alessio (Woodbridge) led
wire-to-wire to win women's gold at the 2013 OCAA Golf
Championships. Her rounds of 83-79-81 put her at plus-nine for the
54-hole tournament and gave her a 15-stroke victory. D'Alessio is
the first Humber golfer to win women's gold since 2009.
MEN'S BASEBALL
Jordan Brewer, Seneca
It's been a challenging debut season for Seneca in men's
baseball, but the Sting had every reason to celebrate doubling
George Brown 10-5 on Oct. 5 for the team's first victory.
Jordan Brewer (Tottenham) went 2-for-2, scoring
twice while stealing two bases. He also walked once.
WOMEN'S FASTBALL
Lindsay Ballance, Seneca
Seneca kept its post-season hopes alive with a big 5-3 win at Durham on Oct. 4. Second-year shortstop Lindsay Ballance (Napanee) contributed directly to three of Seneca's runs, going 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI as well as a run scored. Seneca is one game out of a playoff position with three remaining.
RUGBY
MALE: Sean Smith, Loyalist
First-year centre Sean Smith (Pickering) has made a positive impact on the Lancers this season. Smith has scored a try in three separate matches, including a 26-12 win over Seneca on Oct. 5, giving Loyalist its first victory of 2013. Both teams compete in a rematch on Oct. 27.
FEMALE: Megan Copeland Dinan, Conestoga
After three consecutive shut out losses, Conestoga got off the
schnide in a big way on Oct. 3. First-year player Megan
Copeland Dinan (Ottawa) scored three tries while adding a
pair of converts for a game-high 19 points in Conestoga's 39-10
victory over Sheridan.
SOCCER
MALE: Austin MacDonell, Niagara
Needing a victory to lock up a post-season berth, Austin
MacDonell (Ajax) scored three times in Niagara's 4-0 win
over Lambton. The output gave MacDonell four goals for the season.
The win lifted the Knights to .500 at 3-3-2, good for fifth place
in the OCAA West, and a playoff showdown at St. Clair.
FEMALE: Amy Wilson, Lambton
Lambton ended its regular season on a three game win streak, with Amy Wilson (Lambton Shores) scoring in each match. Wilson scored the lone goal in a 1-0 win at St. Clair, and added another goal in a 2-1 win at Niagara. In total, Wilson scored four goals in three matches, lifting the Lions to a post-season berth.

OVERALL MALE: Nicholas Lindsay, Sheridan, Men's Soccer
Fourth-year player Nicholas Lindsay (Brampton)
has all but secured the OCAA scoring title. Lindsay scored a pair
of goals in a 4-1 win over Conestoga, then netting a hat trick in a
4-0 victory against Mohawk. Lindsay has 11 goals in total, having
scored in five of Sheridan's six matches to date.
OVERALL FEMALE: Juletta Cull, St. Lawrence-Kingston,
Women's Rugby
Third-year player Juletta Cull (Douglas) scored
three tries in St. Lawrence-Kingston's 39-17 win over Fleming. With
the victory, SLC improved to 2-1 on the season, moving into sole
possession of second place in the OCAA East. Cull now has four
tries after scoring just two last season.
MEN'S BASEBALL
Erik Treble, George Brown
Erik Treble (Toronto) earned the victory in
George Brown's 3-1 upset victory over Durham on Sept. 29. Treble
pitched six innings, allowing one unearned run on three hits while
striking out four, lowering his ERA to 1.64. It was only Durham's
third loss of the season. George Brown ended September with three
wins.
WOMEN'S FASTBALL
Jessica O'Quinn, Humber
2012 OCAA women's fastball player of the year Jessica
O'Quinn (Etobicoke) was instrumental in Humber's
three-game sweep of Conestoga. From the rubber O'Quinn allowed just
two earned runs in 11 innings of work. At the plate she contributed
six hits including two doubles, three runs, two RBI and two
steals.
RUGBY
MALE: Conan Valyear, Georgian
Second-year wing Conan Valyear (Barrie) scored
a critical try in a 14-5 win over Sheridan, improving Georgian's
record to a perfect 3-0. Valyear is currently the team leader in
tries with four. Georgian hosts defending OCAA champion Humber in a
battle of unbeaten clubs on Oct. 9.

At 3-0-2, Fanshawe is the only undefeated team in the OCAA West, and Katie Parker (Strathroy) is a major reason why. Parker scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Lambton, then followed this up with a four-goal effort in a 6-0 win over Niagara, matching an OCAA single-game best for 2013.

First-year player Cecilia Lac (Georgetown) made the most of her OCAA debut on Sept. 22, scoring a pair of tries in Sheridan's 20-12 victory over Mohawk. It marks the first time Sheridan is above .500 in the short two-year history of the program. The Bruins were 2-4 last season.
SOCCER
MALE: Jordan Bokma, Redeemer
Fourth-year defender Jordan Bokma (Shubenacadie, N.S.) had a positive impact on both ends of the pitch in Redeemer's 2-0 win over Lambton. He not only scored, but he helped preserve the shutout with strong defence. After going winless last season, Redeemer has won two matches in 2013.
FEMALE: Brittney Sero, Durham
Fifth-year midfielder Brittney Sero (Newcastle) scored four goals in two road victories, including a hat-trick in a 5-1 win at Cambrian. Sero has scored six goals in her last three games and is in the hunt for the OCAA scoring title. After losing its opener, Durham has won four straight.

In a battle between last season's silver and bronze medalists, Trent defeated Seneca 31-12 on Sept. 13. Elijah Adair (Stratford) scored a pair of tries in the victory to match his entire total from last season. Trent went undefeated in the regular season last season, and are off to a great start in 2013.

T.K. Rocca (Sault Ste. Marie) currently leads the OCAA with six goals. Not surprisingly, the Cambrian Golden Shield have a 3-1 record, with Rocca scoring in each victory. During a two-game swing against Toronto teams, Rocca scored once in a 2-0 win at George Brown, and a hat trick in a 3-0 win at Centennial.
MEN'S BASEBALL
George Halim, Humber
Humber jumped out to a 3-1 start to the season, with George Halim (Pickering) playing the role of offensive spark plug. Halim delivered eight hits while walking five times, scoring eight runs in the process. He currently leads all players with six stolen bases, and legged out the first triple in OCAA history.
WOMEN'S FASTBALL
Tori Taylor, Conestoga
Tori Taylor (Kitchener) hit for the cycle this past week as Conestoga won two out of three. Her seven hits included a double, triple and two home runs. Taylor also scored six times, drove in seven, and stole four bases. After narrowly losing to Durham, Conestoga swept Mohawk in a doubleheader.

Alex Asmis (Ottawa) made Algonquin's longest road trip of the regular season a memorable one for his Thunder teammates. Asmis broke a 1-1 draw in the 84th minute, heading a lose ball past a helpless Seneca goalkeeper for the winner in a 2-1 road victory over the defending OCAA silver medalist.

St. Clair made a call to Dr. Longball and catcher Jeff Watkin (Tecumseh) delivered in both ends of a doubleheader sweep of George Brown. Watkin hit a three-run home run in the opener, and a pair of two-run dingers in the second game. St. Clair won 13-0 and 16-0 in the first-ever OCAA men's baseball games.
