To be the best, you have to beat the best. St. Lawrence did just that in its OCAA men's rugby opener, edging two-time defending champion Durham 21-19 on Sept. 25. Making his OCAA debut at the lock position, Afidenyo scored a try and added a convert for seven points, the margin of victory and then some. Afidenyo was the only player to score a try and convert in the same match in two OCAA games this week, showcasing his versatility. With a reduced schedule and limited teams on the circuit this season, every win is a huge one. Afidenyo helped the Surge get off on the right foot.
