Irwin capped off an extraordinary debut season on the OCAA cross country circuit, winning the individual women's gold medal at provincials on Oct. 30 in a six kilometre time of 25:12, twenty-six seconds ahead of her closest rival. Irwin won all three races on the abbreviated calendar this season, was awarded OCAA Rookie of the Year for being the fastest first-year runner at provincials, and was named to the OCAA All-Ontario First-Team. Irwin still has one race later this month as she races for more hardware at nationals in Calgary.
