Sim-Spence was named Championship MVP in St. Lawrence's 13-7 victory over Georgian in the OCAA gold medal match on Nov. 13. The fourth-year outside centre's inspirational leadership on the pitch helped galvanize the Surge to their first OCAA Division I men's rugby crown (the other coming in Division II in 2008). Sim-Spence was also named an OCAA League All-Star for the second time prior to the match. St. Lawrence went undefeated in OCAA play in 2021 with an overall record of 5-0-1, claiming its third provincial medal in five seasons.
