Whitson threw the second no-hitter of the OCAA season on Sept. 17, joining Humber's Aidan Murphy. Whitson went five innings, allowing no runs and no hits while striking out 10 in a 10-0 victory at Sault in Game 1 of a doubleheader. The second-year right hander faced 16 total batters, one above the minimum, walking just one. Whitson is 2-0 on the season with a 2.80 ERA. The St. Clair Saints were simply dominant from the pitching rubber in Sault Ste. Marie, allowing just one hit in 12 innings in a two-game sweep of the twin bill.
