After earning a huge win over St. Clair to begin the 2022 campaign on Sept. 11, Deans took the mound on Sept. 20 in another road start, this time against Seneca. Deans was firing on cylinders and struck out the side through the first two innings. The fourth-year right-hander also proceeded to strike out the side in the fourth and fifth inning. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Deans blew a fastball by Roberto Pagliero, recording strikeout No. 16 to set a new OCAA single-game record. Deans is also the OCAA league-leader with 26 strikeouts.
