Gurrieri rose to the occasion at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Soccer National Championship in Langley, B.C., being named Championship MVP. Gurrieri helped the Sting win their first two matches in penalty kicks, stopping two shots in each. In the gold medal match against OCAA-rival Humber, Gurrieri made countless saves as Seneca played short two players, falling in extra time 2-1. OCAA teams finished 1-2 for the first time at the men's soccer nationals, with Humber defending its gold medal and Seneca taking the silver.
