ST. CLAIR MEN'S BASEBALL TO HOST OCAA PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIP

ST. CLAIR MEN'S BASEBALL TO HOST OCAA PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIP

TECUMSEH, Ont. - St. Clair College is putting the final touches on hosting the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association Men's Baseball Championship presented by belairdirect this weekend at Lacasse Park in Tecumseh, Ont. The event will kick-off with OCAA Championship Awards Banquet which is being held at St. Clair's Centre for the Arts campus on Thursday evening. All the participating teams will learn the regular season award winners at that time.

St. Clair is the four-time defending champion of the OCAA and narrowly managed to win its fifth consecutive regular season pennant this fall. But the other qualifying schools from Humber College (Etobicoke), Durham College (Oshawa) and Fanshawe College (London) are all threats to upset the host.

The double knock-out format will begin play on Friday at 11 a.m. with No. 2-seed Humber College (15-5) facing No. 3-seed Durham College (13-7). Top seed St. Clair College (14-4) will face No. 4-seed Fanshawe College (11-9) at 1:30 p.m. The entire tournament will be webcast on www.we-tv.ca
