TECUMSEH, Ont. – Fanshawe College (London) played a balanced game Friday evening and eliminated Durham College (Oshawa) from the OCAA provincial championship tournament at Bert Lacasse Park in Tecumseh by a score of 8-1.
Fanshawe controlled the game from beginning to end putting up three runs in the second and sixth innings adding a pair in the fifth inning. Durham only managed a solo home run in the fifth inning by its Player of the Game Tristan Willcocks (Whitby) who also added a double on the day.
Fanshawe starter Tyler Wood (Niagara Falls) went the distance spreading out seven hits and struck out four batters to earn Player of the Game honours for his team. Zev Weisdorf (London) and Carlos Arteaga (London) each also had two hits apiece for the Falcons in the win.
Fanshawe will face another elimination game Saturday morning at 10 a.m. against the loser of the St. Clair/Humber game.
