The Seneca Sting take advantage of their home court crowd with a 60-57 win over the Niagara Knights.
The Sting found themselves in a four point deficit to the Knights 18-14 after a strong first quarter from the Knights Player of the Game Alyssa McCabe.
The Sting relied on their defensive pressence in the second quarter keeping the Knights offense to only 8 points total. While Alcian Satchel and Nicolette Elliot-Gill of the Sting both contributed 5 points each to take the lead going into half time up by 10, 36-26.
The third quarter Knights saw McCabe score 12 points on her own to close in on the Sting's lead 49-44.
The Knights were unable to overcome the decifit as the Sting Player of The Game Taylor Allicock scored 5 points including two late game freethrows to secure the win for the Seneca Sting 60-57.
Satchel led the Sting with 18 points including 4 three-pointers and 7 rebounds. Allicock scored 15 points of her own and 3 steals. Shenice Stubbs contributed 12 rebounds, 6 points and 4 steals to lead the Sting to their quarter final victory.
The Knights were led by McCabe with a game high 27 points, 5 steals and 7 rebounds. While Courtney McPherson contributed 18 rebounds and 8 points.
