MOHAWK CLIMBS ITS WAY INTO OCAA WOMEN'S BASKETBALL SEMI-FINALS

The Mohawk Mountaineers move on to the Semi Finals with a decisive 98-62 win over the Durham Lords.

The Lords pulled ahead early winning the first quarter 19-16.  Led by Dekota Kirby with two three-Pointers. 

The Mountaineers came out swinging in the second quarter with 26 points.  Shanien O'Neill sank two three-pointers and Carissa Browne put in 5 points for the Mountaineers. While Brittany Walters contributed 7 points of her own to the Lords 13.

The third quarter saw the Mountaineers Player of the Game Jakalya Douse dominate the boards as she put in 11 points.  The Lords saw the game slipping away from them as the lead grew to 78-48.

The Mountaineers didn't let up in the fourth quarter as they added another 23 points to their total.  The Lords could only muster 14 points but fought till the very end.  The final score was 98-62 as the Mountaineers look to take their high scoring offense into the semi finals tomorrow.

The Lords Player of the Game Lindsay Panchan led the team in scoring with 13 points and 9 rebounds. Walters added her own 12 points and 5 rebounds to the lords total.

Douse was the Mountaineers stand out player as she put up 17 points and 12 rebounds.  Hunter Johns and Sam Pocrnic both contributed 14 points each to the Mountaineers decisive win.
