Annette Bondy began her varsity collegiate career in 1980 when she played on the St. Clair Saints women's basketball team. Bondy was a well-rounded player, often demonstrating both supreme shooting ability as well as exceptional court vision. Bondy was often depended on to lead the Saints offence averaging 14.5 points per game over her two seasons with the team.

Throughout her career with St. Clair, Annette racked up 744 career points. In her freshmen year, the Saints claimed the OCAA bronze medal with Bondy being named a championship all-star.

In her sophomore year, she was named team captain and led the Saints to an 11-1 regular season record and a West region championship. At the provincial championship, St. Clair went on to win their second consecutive bronze medal and Bondy was recognized as the team's most valuable player and St. Clair's Female Athlete of the Year.

Despite her recognition as an outstanding basketball player, Bondy was also very successful off the court as she appeared on the college honour roll both years she played. Bondy was inducted into the St. Clair College Hall of Fame in 1986.
