Ron Fearon began his association with the OCAA in 1976 working as a coach and being involved with the campus recreation before serving as athletic director at Confederation College, where he was instrumental in building a successful campus recreation and varsity athletic program.

Fearon's service to the OCAA spanned over several years having served the past 17 years on the OCAA Executive Committee as the Vice President of Finance, where he has managed to ensure financial stability for the association. He has also dedicated his time as the chair of the Awards and Academic/Athletic Awards Committees over the 17-year span.

Fearon actively participated at OCAA directors meetings and annual meetings representing Confederation College. He has been a strong advocate for a fair process and regulations to ensure equity and fair play for the OCAA, athletes, campus recreation and the CCAA, regardless of the size and location of the participating programs.

Throughout his career, he has also served as the coach/manager of the Confederation College curling team. From 1988 to 1990, teams representing the college have gone on to win CCAA national titles, making Confederation one of the elite curling programs in the country. He also served as the curling senior convenor from 1989 to 1991. Fearon's 30 years with the OCAA has been integral to the association's past success and bright future.
