A native of London, Ont., Vito Frijia was a member of the Fanshawe College's men's basketball team from 1979-80 to 1980-81. In both seasons with the Falcons, Vito made an impact that will not soon be forgotten.

As captain, he led his team to back-to-back OCAA provincial and CCAA national titles. At the 1981 national championship, Vito was acknowledged for his accomplishments garnering CCAA national championship tournament MVP honours aw well as being named Fanshawe's male athlete of the year.

A construction technician graduate, Vito was named to the OCAA all-millennium men's basketball team. Vito currently operates one of London's most successful construction and development companies, Southside Group and remains actively involved with Fanshawe as a sponsor. It was also his company that was commissioned to build the new athletic facility and expansion buildings at Fanshawe College.
