Institution: OCAA Central Office
Inducted: 2007

Doug Gellatly has garnered recognition from almost everyone he has had an opportunity to work with. The following is a sliver of some of the praises he has earned during his time as the OCAA as the Executive Director.

"I have never met anyone more fiscally responsible than Doug Gellatly. He moved the OCAA's financial stability forward with leaps and bounds and developed a respect from our ministry consultants that carries forward to this day. Doug developed the protocol we still use to secure our grants and was a true mentor to his staff and is an all-around nice person. His support for the development of the Hall of Fame and many other projects brought his multitude of leadership skills and professionalism to the attention of many other organizations. The active recruitment to hire him as the Executive Director of a much larger multi-sport association, OFSAA, is the best testament to how outstanding Doug was as the OCAA Executive Director." – Ron Fearon.

"…very methodical in the way he handled business. Everything he did was well thought out and the manner in which things were done made him and effective manager." - Ron Port.

During his time with the OCAA Doug was responsible for the creation of the Hall of Fame, Sweat Magazine, Shoot for Cash, Hoop-A-Thon and the OCAA Historical Awards and Service Database. He also cultivated partnerships with Rogers TV, Leisure Information Network, Source for Sports, Spalding and Westmont Hospitality.

He was the first Executive Director to be an official OCAA delegate at the CCAA and also created many positive relationships with organizations such as universities, OFSAA and OPHEA through his role on the Sport and Education Coalition Committee.
