Rhonda Giguere was a dominant player in the college ranks for two years with the Algonquin Caats. Giguere etched her name in the OCAA record books becoming the first women's basketball player to win back-to-back league scoring titles. For her performance on the court she was recognized as a two-time OCAA All-Star, as well as being named a CCAA all-Canadian in her freshman year.
The Caats struggled prior to the arrival of Giguere, as they posted a 0-14 record in 1983-84. Giguere was a key component in the program's turnaround as the Caats made back-to-back quarter-final appearances in her two years of play.
Rhonda currently remains an integral part of the Algonquin athletic department as the coordinator of campus recreation.
