Category: Coach
Sport: Men's Rugby
Institution: Seneca College
Inducted: 2019

Bob McArthur was the original Seneca College head coach for Men's Rugby and led the program for its first 16 seasons beginning in 1999.

During this period, Seneca won five OCAA championships, three silver medals, five bronze, and 10 regular season titles. Bob was recognized as OCAA Coach of the Year twice in 2005 and 2011. Under Bob's leadership, Seneca set an OCAA record for most consecutive championships, winning five straight from 2001 to 2005. Seneca's 13 OCAA medals during this period was more than any other program.

In addition to being an excellent strategist and skills development coach, Bob accomplished great strides in bringing team and individual discipline to Seneca's rugby team. As players transitioned from the gregarious social activity of club rugby to intercollegiate rugby, there were a number of years where the educative process was significant. Bob was able to lead that process and redirect the player's energy to team success.
