Jeff McKenzie had a highly successful tenure as the coach of the Confederation Thunderhawks alpine ski racing team.

During his eight years at Confederation, McKenzie's teams captured three men's provincial championships (1984-85, 1985-86, 1988-89), three men's individual championships (1984-85, 1985-86, 1988-89), two women's individual championships, as well as several silver and bronze medals. Also impressive was the fact he coached three OCAA individual triple gold medalists.

McKenzie also had the unique experience of coaching his sister and OCAA Hall of Fame athlete Jacquelyn to six of her 10 OCAA gold medals. In addition, he volunteered his time at two OCAA championships to work as Chief of Race and Course Setter.
