Jim Rennie coached the men's hockey and golf teams and taught at Seneca College for over 30 years.

Under Rennie's tutelage, the Seneca Sting/Braves men's hockey team combined for 545 wins in 888 games. The team captured seven OCAA gold medals, winning their first in 1971-72. Rennie won his seventh and final championship 26 years later in 1997-98, and his résumé included back-to-back championships in 1983-84 and 1984-85.

Rennie's golf credentials include leading the Seneca men's team to four OCAA championships, beginning in 1969-70 and winning the school's fourth gold medal 25 years later in, 1994-95.

Throughout Rennie's career he provided the Seneca hockey program with outstanding leadership, and exemplified the dedication and passion for college athletics that made him a favourite with his peers and student athletes. His exceptional leadership skills, talent, perseverance, and loyalty were just a testament to the years he gave to Seneca College.

Jim Rennie passed away in 2000.
