Box Score OSHAWA, Ont. – A 32-point performance by Christoff Pierre (Brampton, Ont.) wasn't enough to carry Durham College men's basketball team to victory as the George Brown Huskies defeated the Lords 76-64 at the CRWC on Tuesday night.
 
Pierre helped Durham open the game on a 10-2 run, scoring eight of their first 10 points, but a 9-0 Huskies run gave them their first lead of the night. The two teams traded the lead twice more before George Brown took an 18-17 advantage to the second quarter.
 
After bouncing back to take a 25-23 lead, Durham gave up 17 straight points to trail by 15. It was clear things weren't going the Lords way as Dejazmatch James hit a buzzer-beater at halftime from the Huskies side of the court to put his team ahead 46-28.
 
The Lords didn't give up pressing the Huskies in the third as they went on a 10-0 run early to cut the lead to seven, but they didn't get any closer until the fourth quarter.
 
Durham was down by five early in the final quarter, but as the teams traded baskets for the remainder of the game the Lords simply ran out of time.
 
Darian Rowe (Maple, Ont.) was the only other Lords in double digits with 10 points. Rowe, Rashaun Bennett (Scarborough, Ont.) and Dylan Pelissero (Ridgeway, Ont.) all led Durham with nine boards apiece.
 
George Brown's scoring was spread out as Dejazmatch James led the way with 16, with Nerquaye Nettey and Kevon Mascoe not far off with 14 and 11 points respectively. James also led his team in rebounds with eight.
 
The Lords will now play the Centennial Colts on Friday night in Oshawa at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m.
