SUDBURY, Ont. – The Durham College women's soccer team couldn't come back from an early deficit as the Cambrian Golden Shield handed the Lords a 5-1 loss on Sunday in Sudbury.
Taylor McGee (Bowmanville, Ont.) scored her second goal of the season, Durham's lone goal of the match, in the opening half after trailing Cambrian 3-0.
The Lords went into halftime down 3-1.
With the team pushing late in the match, the Golden Shield scored a goal in the 88
th minute before a penalty kick in extra time to take the match 5-1.
Heather Travis (Oakville, Ont.) took the loss in goal for Durham.
This Thursday is an important game for the Lords as they hope to stay in the playoff race. They face the Centennial Colts, who are just a point back of them for fifth in the east region.
Points will also be important as Durham looks to pass Fleming for fourth in the region to qualify for the postseason.
