Lords slide continues with loss to Lancers

OSHAWA, Ont. - Looking for a fresh start in 2020, the Durham Lords men's basketball team unfortunately saw similar results to the first half of the 2019-20 season, falling 89-78 to the visiting Loyalist Lancers on Tuesday evening at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre.

The loss marks the fourth consecutive defeat for the Lords, dropping their regular season record to 3-8. Despite the loss, Durham were competitive in the opening match of the second half of the season, shooting over 40 percent from behind the three point line, while making it to the free throw line an impressive 26 times on the evening. Defensive improvements will need to be made to turn the green and gold ship around, as the Lords also allowed the Lancers to shoot over 40 percent from three, with the visitors knocking down 13 buckets from behind the arc in the win.

DC will next challenge the George Brown Huskies next Tuesday, Jan. 21 at the CRWC. Tip-off for the contest is scheduled for 8 p.m. with the game set to be streamed on OCAA LIVE.
