Lords extend their point streak to three games

KINGSTON, Ont. – The Durham College women's soccer team extended their point streak to three games following a 0-0 draw on the road against the St. Lawrence Vikings.

The game was Durham's third game in four days, where they picked up two wins and a draw.

"This was a good week for us getting seven of the nine points available," said head coach Alex Bianchi. "I am really proud of the effort all week but especially today. Today was about character. We had a really short bench with only 14 on a really hot day. I couldn't ask any more out of them."

Durham had plenty of scoring opportunities but could not find a way to beat St. Lawrence goalkeeper Megan Edwards. Durham had 31 shots in total, 19 of which were in the second half.

With seven points in four games played, Durham sits alone in second place in the OCAA east region, trailing the Algonquin Thunder who are 3-0-0. St. Lawrence is 1-0-1 to start the year.

The Lords return home on Wednesday night when they take on the Centennial Colts who are winless in three games. Game time at Vaso's Field is 6 p.m.
