Halliburton scores career high in Lords sixth straight win

BELLEVILLE, Ont. - Behind a career-high 33 points from third-year guard Brandon Halliburton (Brampton, Ont.), the Durham College men's basketball team picked up their sixth consecutive win defeating the Loyalist Lancers 78-57 in Belleville on Tuesday night.

Durham improves to 10-5 on the season, with a 9-1 record through their last 10 games. The Lords currently rank third in the OCAA east division, sitting just six points behind the Seneca Sting and George Brown Huskies who are tied for first.

The Lords were quick out of the gates in the Tuesday night showdown, never relinquishing the lead after a 22-7 first quarter. Durham shot nearly 50 per cent from the field as a team, led by Halliburton's 33 points. The Brampton native tied his career-high, which he set in a 95-77 Lords win over Fleming on Jan. 31, 2018.

DC will next challenge the Georgian Grizzlies on Friday, Feb. 1 at the Campus Recreation & Wellness Centre. Tip off for the contest is scheduled for 8 p.m., with those in attendance having an opportunity to win a number of fantastic prizes courtesy of Sky Zone Trampoline Park Whitby, including a 365-day bounce pass.
  • Halliburton's 33 point career night saw him finish the evening 11-for-18 from the field, hitting 4-of-5 three pointers, while going a perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line.
