Sting Remain Perfect

The Seneca Sting improved to 8-0 with a 90-82 win over the Centennial Colts (5-3).

In a closely-contested game from the start, the Sting jumped out to a 24-18 lead after the first quarter and held a six-point advantage at halftime, thanks to a 14-point, 11-rebound performance from Khalil Miller. Yusuf Ali entered halftime with 13 points while Trevor Hutton scored 10 points. Bailey Burton tried to keep the Colts close with 12 points.

The Colts cut the lead to five points after the third quarter, but the Sting pulled away in the fourth thanks to the defensive efforts of Miller and hot shooting of Ali.

Miller finished with 25 points, 17 rebounds and 7 blocks. Ali added 22 points and 6 assists while Hutton contributed 14 points.

Kendall Wilson led the Colts with 22 points while Jahshua McFarlane (14 points), Burton (14 points) and Alastair Cole (13 points) all reached double-digits in scoring. Burton also added a team-high 9 rebounds.

The Sting shot 49% from the floor while the Colts shot 36%. The Sting outrebounded the Colts by a 58 to 42 margin. The Sting committed eight more turnovers with the Colts holding a 23-16 advantage.
