OSHAWA, Ont. – The score was a lot closer compared to their season opener but the result was still the same as the Durham College women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to the St. Lawrence Vikings.
In their first meeting in Kingston, St. Lawrence blew out Durham 7-1. Saturday's scoreline was closer but the result was all too familiar as Durham falls to 1-4-0 in conference action.
The lone goal of the game came during injury time of the first half as St. Lawrence's Mallory McQueen scored her third goal of the season.
Aaryn Scott (Whitby, Ont.) got the start in goal for Durham and made seven saves. Megan Edwards had four saves for St. Lawrence in the shutout victory.
Durham sits in sixth place in the OCAA east region trailing Fleming and Centennial by five and two points respectively. Approaching the midway point of their season, the Lords offence will need to turn things around if they have any shot at the postseason having only scored two goals in five games.
Durham will take on the Cambrian Golden Shield on Sunday with kickoff at Vaso's Field taking place at noon. Cambrian is in second place with a 4-1-0 record.
