MEN'S VOLLEYBALL KEEP ROLLING IN WIN OVER HUSKIES
The Grizzlies pulled out a victory in four tight sets to move to 4-0 on the season on Friday night in Toronto.
The Georgian Grizzlies men's volleyball team travelled to face the George Brown Huskies on Friday night in Toronto, ON.
Georgian continued their incredible start to the season but faced some stiff competition.
The Huskies put up a strong fight but in the end it was the Grizzlies who pulled out a 3-1 victory with set scores of 25-17, 27-25, 23-25 and 25-22.
Liam Gray (Barrie) led the team with four aces while also registering 30 assists in a strong game. Ryan DeBruyn (Ottawa) led the team with 12 kills while Matt Kerr (Wingham) had a team high seven blocks.
The win moves the Grizzlies to 4-0 on the season and they sit in first place in the OCAA east division standings. Following the weekend the Grizzlies were ranked first in the OCAA league rankings for the second straight week.
Georgian will host a pair of games this coming weekend. First the Grizzlies will take on the Algonquin Thunder on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 3 p.m. They will then face the La Cite Coyotes on Sunday, Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. Tickets for both games at the Georgian Athletic Centre are available at the door for $5.
