GRIZZLIES RUN INTO TOUGH DURHAM SQUAD
The Georgian Grizzlies had a tough night falling to the Durham Lords 74-46 at the Athletic Centre on Tuesday night.
The Georgian Grizzlies women's basketball team hosted their rivals the Durham Lords on Tuesday night at the Georgian Athletic Centre in Barrie.
It was tough game for the Grizzlies against a tough Durham team.
Georgian was unable to match the Lords offensively leading to a 74-46 win for the visitors.
The Grizzlies played the game with a short bench but had good efforts out of Jessica Stockdale (Orillia) and Anna Jaworowicz (Midland) who shared the team lead with 10 points each.
During halftime, Georgian Civil Engineering student Nick de Henestrosa (Newmarket) hit a half-court shot in the OCAA "Shoot for Cash" contest to win $1000 cash.
The Grizzlies will be back in action on Tuesday, Nov. 14 when they host the George Brown Huskies at the Georgian Athletic Centre. Women's game time is set for 6 p.m. with tickets available at the door for $5. Students can pick up tickets for FREE in advance at the Athletic Centre front desk.
