OAKVILLE, Ont. - A week after dropping a 2-1 decision on the road in their season opener, the Sheridan Bruins women's soccer team (1-1 OCAA) reversed that narrative in their home opener, picking up a 2-1 win over George Brown. 

"The second half was much better than the first half," head coach Paul Angelini said. "We started to push our fullbacks up the field to mark [and] release our outside midfielders. We controlled the tempo of the game much better and that shortened the space for the midfield. With that, we were more effective in the midfield and that was the big difference between the first half and the second half."

The Bruins got in the board first in the 26th minute, but saw George Brown pull level shortly before the interval. 

Madison Roberts would supply the winner in the 55th minute.

After a week in between games to start the season, the Double-Blue won't have quite the same luxury moving forward and in order to prepare for a trip to Conestoga on Sept. 20, Angelini says a big portion of practice will focus on strategy. 

"I think we'll work on our set plays and movement as a team, because with only two or three days [to prepare] that becomes more important than actually touching the ball," he said. "It will mostly just serve as review of structure and tactics."
