TORONTO, Ont. – The Durham College men's volleyball team won their fifth straight conference match with a 3-1 comeback win over the George Brown Huskies Saturday afternoon.
George Brown managed to pull off a 26-24 opening set win, but it was all Durham College from that point on as the Lords won three consecutive sets by scores of 25-20, 25-14 and 25-20.
Defence was the key to the win as the Lords were dominant at the net with George Brown attackers having trouble all afternoon getting the ball through the wall of defenders. Durham also seemed to get to every ball that did manage to squeak through featuring several diving digs from libero
Braydon Rodgers (Leaskdale, Ont.).
With the win, Durham (11-2) is alone in first place, one game up on the Trent Excalibur (10-3) and Georgian Grizzlies (10-3). Seneca (9-2) and Fleming (8-3) are also in the mix for top spot in the eastern conference standings.
Durham's next action is at home when they take on the Excalibur on Thursday night. Game time at the CRWC is at 8 p.m.
