LANCERS DROP IN 4 TO THUNDER

The Lancers fell 3-1 to the Algonquin Thunder Saturday at home.

The Lancers played one of their best sets of the year in the first game and took a 25-20 win to hold an early lead. With tough serves and smart attacking, the home team defended their court well and didn't allow the Thunder to go on multi point runs.

Setting great blocks, the Lancers executed their offence well thanks to some great passing in the back row.

The Thunder took a commanding hold of the next set and never relinquished it. Offensively, the Lancers remained strong but struggled with defence and were unable to stop the Thunder from scoring in the middle of the court.

Second year Lancer Lorraine Spellman created great offensive opportunities with great set choices while also playing inspired defence.

Third year Lancer Alicia Orsborne led the team in scoring with 9 kills and 1 ace while Algonquin's Breanna Scheerhoorn led the game with 23 points- 19 kills & 4 a
