Algonquin Thunder 1st to Advance to Championship Final

Algonquin knocks off Knights 3-0 in Championship Semi Final

The Algonquin Thunder have advanced to the 2016 Belairdirect OCAA Men's Soccer Championship. The Thunder defeated the Niagara Knights in the first of two Semi Final matches today at Redeemer University College in Ancaster, ON.
 
The Knights held off the top ranked Thunder for 58 minutes before Algonquin netted the first goal of the match. They would add two more before the final whistle for a 3-0 victory.
 
Algonquin moves on to play the winner of the second semi final at 5pm between the Humber Hawks and the George Brown Huskies.
 
The Thunder have also qualified for the CCAA National Men's Soccer Championship as an OCAA Championship Finalist.
 
The Knights will go for Bronze on Saturday at noon against the loser of the 2nd semi final match.
 
Player of the Game for Algonquin was Dylan Tessier. Niagara Knights Player of the Game was David Fimiak.
