Women's soccer lock up third place with win over George Brown

NORTH YORK, Ont. - Although they conceded a pair of goals late to spoil their home finale two days prior, the Sheridan Bruins women's soccer team (5-4 OCAA) still had the opportunity to lock up third place in the Central Divsion, and that's exactly what they did with a 4-1 win over George Brown.

"We wanted to take the approach that this was a playoff game, and we delivered that kind of intensity," head coach Paul Angelini said. "There are still some things we need to clean-up to be truly playoff-ready, but fortunately we'll have some time to work on those."

The four goals - Makayla Parker (eighth minute), Cassidy Chantler (43rd minute), Paige Dugay (53rd minute), and Madison Roberts (73rd minute) - marked the Bruins' highest scoring output of the season.

In terms of playoff positioning, their regular season finale at Humber on Oct. 18 (6:30pm) becomes relatively meaningless - inasmuch as any Sheridan-Humber contest can be.
