OSHAWA, Ont. – Five members of the Algonquin Thunder were in double-digit scoring on Friday night as they handed the Durham College women's basketball team an 87-65 loss.
Lindsay Panchan (Ajax, Ont.) and
Courtney Harley (Cambridge, Ont.) were the lone Lords in double-digit scoring, finishing with 28 and 15 points respectively. Panchan finished with a double-double as well by grabbing 11 boards.
Amoney Abakar scored 23 for the Thunder to lead their offence, while Lauren Tebrake had a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds.
Jehlinh Bui, Katie Flansbury and Nya Gathoth finished with 18, 10 and 10 points respectively.
Algonquin, who Durham beat by 16 points to open the season, has now won the season series with victories in back-to-back meetings.
As of Friday night, the two teams are tied with 16 points apiece for third in the OCAA east region, although Durham has a game in hand.
The Lords will hope to get back in the win column on Tuesday night when they host the last-place Loyalist Lancers. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the CRWC.
