Sting Move on to OCAA Championship

The Seneca Sting defeated the St. Clair Saints 83-63 to advance to the OCAA Championship.

Entering as the number one ranked team in the country, the Sting struggled early, especially from beyond the three point line, shooting just 4-for-17 in the first half. Despite their struggles, the Sting led the Saints 38-23 at halftime. Yusuf Ali was the star of the opening half, scoring 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting.

As a team, the Sting shot 47% in the first half compared to just 21% by the Saints.

The second half saw the Sting expand their lead thanks to a big third quarter, allowing the OCAA East Division Champions to substitute guys into the game, saving the starters for the OCAA Championship next weekend.

Ali led the Sting with 19 points to go along with 4 assists. Khalil Miller finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds and a trio of steals. Jordan Anderson continued his strong play with 13 points and Isse Ibrahim grabbed 12 rebounds.

Gill Atencio topped the Saints with 14 points and added 8 rebounds. Lance Drummonds finished with a double-double, scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
