The Georgian Grizzlies men's basketball team headed on the road to face the Sheridan Bruins in an OCAA crossover playoff matchup on Sunday afternoon in Brampton.
The Grizzlies battled hard in hopes of pulling off the upset against the west division's third seeded team.
After falling behind, Georgian battled back several times but were unable to shut down the Bruins offence as Sheridan pulled away in the end by a 106-78 score.
Despite the loss, the Grizzlies had big efforts out of two local Barrie natives as Connor Laronde had a team-high 24 points in the game while Daniel Martyn had a season high 23 point performance.
Anthony Meggo (Whitby) was also strong for the Grizzlies with 18 points.
The loss ends the Grizzlies season as the Sheridan Bruins will move on to the 2018 belairdirect OCAA Men's Basketball Championship which takes place March 1-3, 2018 hosted by Niagara College in Welland.
