OSHAWA, Ont. – The Durham College men's volleyball team picked up their first victory of the season with a 3-0 (27-25, 25-15, 25-19) win on home court over the Loyalist Lancers.
 
Durham began the opening set with a steady lead, but Fleming wouldn't go down without a fight and forced the set into extra serves where the Lords would ultimately come out on top 27-25. The second set was more decisive as the Lords created separation from their opponent and won by a double-digit margin 25-15.
 
The Lords finished the game sweeping the visitors after picking up a 25-19 win in the third and final set.
 
Tyler Krabi (Stouffville, Ont.) led the way for the Lords in their first win of the season with 23 total attacks, picking up seven kills and two aces. Harrison Wood (Uxbridge, Ont.) and Spencer Edwards (Vineland, Ont.) registered nine and eight kills, respectively.
 
For the Lancers, Alex Cox was the hard hitter at the net as he recorded seven kills, while setter Gabe Van Allen racked up the assists with 19.
 
The Lords are back in action as they head to Peterborough on Saturday afternoon to face off with the Fleming Knights. Durham's next home game is on Thursday, Nov. 16 at 8 p.m. against the Seneca Sting.
