OSHAWA, Ont. - After combining with their opponent for a new OCAA record in runs scored, the Durham Lords bats continued to make contact as they convincingly defeated the George Brown Huskies 12-0 on Sunday afternoon at Kinsmen Stadium.
With another 12 runs scored in today's contest the Lords offence has now produced 65 runs over their last six games played.
Durham ends their long home stand to open the OCAA season this Wednesday, Sept. 18 as they welcome the Humber Hawks to Kinsmen Stadium for a mid-week showdown. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
• Second-year shortstop
Griffin Oliver (Oshawa, Ont.) had a day, registering four RBI on two timely singles in his 2-for-4 performance.
• First-year left fielder
Lucas Fasullo (Norwood, Ont.) also impressed going a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate, adding two RBI, while crossing the plate three times himself.
• Three other Lords recorded an RBI in the strong offensive outing.
• DC starting pitcher
Jason Crouse (Oshawa, Ont.) earned his first win of the season, shutting out the Huskies in a complete game five innings, allowing just four hits and two walks, while striking out one.
• Joe Giasante was handed the loss for the Huskies after giving up six earned runs in just 2.1 innings of work.
