LANCERS DROP GRIZZLIES

The men's basketball team completed the sweep of the Georgian Grizzlies with an 85-64 victory Saturday at home.

The game started off slow with the Lancers holding a small 2 point lead at the end of the first quarter. Gaining momentum off the hop in the second, the Lancers became more consistent in with their shots and expanded the lead to 42-29 at the half. 
 
Despite the gap in the score, the Grizzlies continued to challenge the now 6-4 Lancers with speed and aggression right up to the final buzzer. 
 
Second year Lancer Angelo Sarsonas continues to lead his team and was the game's leading scorer 22 points, 3 steals and 6 rebounds while DJ Atkinson followed close behind with 18 points, 3 steals and 3 rebounds. 
 
Akim Ruot, in his first season with the Lancers recorded 2 monster blocks in the game and contributed 7 rebounds. 
 
As a team, the Lancers shot 73% from the free throw line, had 10 steals and out-rebounded the Grizzlies 46-29.
 
The Lancers get back in action Tuesday when they head to Toronto to take on the Centennial Colts.
