BELLEVILLE, Ont. – The Durham College men's basketball team will head into the offseason on a positive note after winning their final two games of the regular season.
In Belleville on Tuesday night the Lords defeated the Loyalist Lancers 70-51 to follow their 65-58 win over the St. Lawrence Vikings at home on Friday.
Unfortunately for Durham they finished the season in seventh place, just two points out of a playoff spot – the first time the Lords have missed the postseason since 2012-13.
In his final game in the OCAA and with the Lords,
Darian Rowe (Maple, Ont.) had eight points and nine rebounds.
Dylan Pelissero's (Ridgeway, Ont.) double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds led the Lords in both categories, while
Roynelle Meredith (Pickering, Ont.) added 10 points and five rebounds.
Funsho Dimenji had game-high numbers with his 20 points and 13 rebounds for Loyalist. Anthony Lowe picked up 12 points, with Jayvon Lake adding six points and 12 rebounds.
Tonight's game marked the conclusion of the OCAA season for both teams as the 2015-16 regular season wraps up Wednesday night, followed by qualifying games this weekend.
Head coach
Desmond Rowley will now turn his attention entirely to his recruitment process for the 2016-17 campaign, which has been gaining momentum over the last number of weeks.
