The Georgian Grizzlies women's basketball team hosted the Loyalist Lancers on Friday night in the first of back-to-back games between the two teams at the Georgian Athletic Centre.
It was a strong battle between the two teams and in the fourth quarter the Grizzlies continued their no-quit attitude to close the gap, but it wasn't enough as the Lancers won 53-40.
Jessica Stockdale (Orillia) had a solid game for the Grizzlies racking up a team high 11 points while Dayna Snowdon (Kemptville) had eight points.
Katrina Kerekesch (Dundas) led the team with 10 rebounds.
Georgian will have the unique opportunity to adjust and re-focus for a rematch against the Lancers as the two teams will meet again on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. at the Georgian Athletic Centre.
Tickets are available at the doors for $5.
