The Georgian Grizzlies faced the Humber Hawks in the semi-finals of the 2018 OCAA Men's Volleyball Championship hosted at Georgian College in Barrie.
A capacity crowd at the Athletic Centre made tons of noise for the home team.
Georgian battled hard but fell in three tight sets to the Hawks 3-0 by set scores of 25-21, 25-22 and 25-22.
Liam Gray (Barrie) was named player of the game for the Grizzlies after recording 26 assists. Ryan DeBruyn (Ottawa) was also solid for the Grizzlies scoring a team-high 12 kills.
It was Georgian's first home loss in any game since Feb. 17, 2016.
Georgian will now re-set and focus in on earning their first ever OCAA medal in team history when they go for bronze on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. against the Redeemer Royals.
