Sting Fall to Lords in Regular Season Finale

The Seneca Sting (10-8) fell in straight sets to the Durham Lords (12-6) 25-22, 25-19, 25-17.

The Sting started the match off strong thanks to fifth year outside hitter Lauren Watt's serving. Despite the early lead, the Sting were unable to sustain the momentum before dropping the opening set.

The second and third set's mirrored each other with the Lords jumping ahead early. The Sting would get close, but were unable to take a lead before the Lords pulled away late in the set.

Prior to the match, the Sting recognized seven graduating student-athletes playing their final home game. Lauren Watt (5), Amy Sayaveth (5), Kiana Miller (4), Nicole Boyd (3), Crystal O'Donnell (3), Tera Petchiny (3) and Vahnessa Hall (2) combined to play twenty-five seasons for the Sting dating back to the Fall of 2011.

Sayaveth led the Sting with 8 kills to go along with 14 digs. Milled added 7 kills while Watt finished with 5 aces and 13 digs. Boyd topped the Sting with 16 digs while Maddy Jenkins recorded 18 assists.

Jessica Joensen led the Lords with 6 kills to go along with 8 digs. Allyson Terwillegar and Althea Boncheff each had 5 kills with Terwillegar adding 3 aces. Megan Romain topped the Lords with 21 assists and 13 digs to go along with her 2 aces.
