Box Score OSHAWA, Ont. – Durham College men's volleyball's offensive weapons were on point on Thursday against the Trent Excalibur, a match that had major implications as the regular season winds down.
Andrew Watson (Uxbridge, Ont.) and
Harrison Wood (Nebraska, U.S.) combined for 26 kills in the Lords 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-17) win over the second place Excalibur.
Watson finished the night with 14 kills and two blocks, while Wood had 12 kills and an ace.
Durham's team leader in service aces,
Matt McGirr (Brampton, Ont.), had a staggering eight aces against the Excalibur to bring his total to 29 in 40 sets (0.73 SA/S).
Andrew Kretz and Griffin Williams each had five kills to lead their team's offence.
Next weekend the playoff push continues for Durham when they head to the nation's capital for a pair of games against the Algonquin Thunder and La Cité Coyotes.
They will return home on Feb. 2 to host the Fleming Knights.
