OSHAWA, Ont. – The Durham College women's basketball team only trailed once, 1-0, as the Lords picked up a relatively easy 70-57 victory over the George Brown Huskies on Friday.
 
Lindsay Panchan (Ajax, Ont.) scored 25 points to lead the Lords offence and move into fourth in all-time scoring at Durham College by passing Julie Goedhuis who finished her career with 816 points. Panchan now has 825. She also had the lone double-double of the Friday's game, finishing with 16 boards.
 
To get back in the win column, Durham had a strong start, leading 21-9 through one quarter. They pushed their lead to 36-21 by halftime.
 
Their offence continued to outscore the Huskies in the third, 24-21 to push the lead to 18 heading into the fourth – the only quarter George Brown outscored Durham.
 
The Huskies only dropped five more points than the Lords in the final ten minutes as Durham went on to win 70-57 in a game that took two hours to play. At the end of the foul-filled tilt Durham had 32, while George Brown had 22.
 
Offensively Kayla Marshall (Ottawa, Ont.) was also in double-digits for Durham, scoring a season-high 17 points.
 
On the opposite end of the court Tianna Sullivan scored a team-high 20 points, while Kiyann Grimaldo picked up 15 points and a team-high seven boards.
 
Durham now has the week off as they prepare for their road trip to Ottawa next Saturday. Their final conference game before the holiday break is also on the road, November 30 at Centennial.
