Sting Pull Away From Grizzlies

The Seneca Sting (13-4) wrapped up the regular season by defeating the Georgian Grizzlies (0-17) 48-38.

The low-scoring affair saw the Sting regularly substitute in an effort remain healthy as they head into the OCAA Crossovers this Saturday. The shorthanded Grizzlies showed determination throughout, remaining close to the second seed in the OCAA East Division despite travelling with only seven players.

The Sting held leads of 16-7 after the first quarter and 22-19 at halftime, unable to open the up against the feisty Grizzlies.

Taylor Allicock led the Sting in scoring with 15 points to go along with 3 steals. Sarah Givens added 11 points, 7 assists and 3 steals. Shenice Stubbs finished with 8 points and 12 rebounds.

Debinique Knowles topped the Grizzlies with 10 points and 13 rebounds to go along with 4 assists and 3 steals. McKenzie Howlett added 9 points.

Prior to the game, the Sting recognized Givens (5th year) and Allicock (3rd year) as the duo will be graduating later this year.
