SCARBOROUGH, Ont. – The Durham College women's volleyball team were slow out of the gate, but rebounded for a convincing 3-1 win over the Centennial Colts as they opened their season on the road on Saturday.
Falling 25-23 to the host Colts to open the match, Durham rebounded with set scores of 25-20, 25-19 and 25-18 to start off their season on the right foot.
"We're still getting started, but when we realized what mistakes cost us in a conference match, we responded well today," said head coach
Tony Clarke. We need to improve on some things before our next match, but this was a good opportunity to see what we still need to improve and shake the rust off."
Pasha Ormerod (Terrace, B.C.) finished with three aces and two blocks in her first OCAA match.
Alexa Armstrong (Whitby, Ont.) matched her team-high block total with two of her own.

Allyson Terwillegar (Enniskillen, Ont.) led the offence with 12 kills – alongside eight digs on the defensive side of the ball.
Durham College now has the week off as they prepare for the Algonquin Thunder for their home opener, which is also Durham Rebels Volleyball appreciation night. First serve is 6 p.m.
