NORTH BAY, Ont. – The Durham College men's basketball team has had a tough start to the season as the Lords have lost their third game of the season 81-53 to the Canadore Panthers.
Durham led the game early on, holding a 14-13 advantage after a quarter, but after giving up 30 points to the Panthers in the second quarter the Lords trailed 43-34 at halftime.
The third quarter made it near impossible for Durham to mount a comeback as Canadore outscored them 20-6, en route to the 81-53 victory.
Rashaun Bennett (Scarborough, Ont.) led Durham with 15 points, while
Darian Rowe (Maple, Ont.) added 12 points and nine rebounds in the loss.
Alessio Del Gobbo (North York, Ont.) was just two assists away from back-to-back double-doubles as he finished with 10 points and eight assists for the Lords.
The Panthers were led offensively by Deysean Thompson-Evans' 16 points, with Santo Dak adding 12 and Jerome Wynters picking up 10 points.
Durham will now wait until Friday night to take on the Loyalist Lancers at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre. Tip-off is 8 p.m.
